FULLY AUTOMATED
The new VNV Nation album "AUTOMATIC" will be released in September. The album has been in production for a while and so far it looks to be an incredibly energetic and anthemic release (and then some). We'll be premiering some of the new songs at our show at the Nordstern Festival in Hamburg in July and snippets and previews will be posted online over the Summer. There's so much we want to tell you about this album and what we have planned around it but we prefer to keep it a surprise, for the moment. There are lots of things planned that we've never attempted before and we're really excited about it.
AUTOMATIC TOUR 2011-2012
The European tour will kick off in September 6th in Germany. Our über-special guests on the tour will be Straftanz. This is a band who put on a great live show and are the right kind of people to be stuck in a bus for 4 weeks with when you have a voucher for therapist sessions that you need to use. Dates are on the LIVE page. A couple of additional dates will be added in the next week couple of weeks.
Tickets are on sale now from HEADLINE
We're also finalizing dates for the UK (October), Spain (January) and our booker is working on shows for Scandinavia and South America.
The North American tour will start mid-November. The first part will run to mid December and then we'll be back again in early 2012 for a lot more shows. We'll have dates for you in a few months. that will get added in the coming months.
This won't be all and we'll have plenty of other shows that will get added in the coming months.
REMIXES AND COVER VERSIONS
We've just completed a remix of Within Temptation's new single "Sinêad". The band love it so much that their singer Sharon recorded a special vocal to be added to it and the band asked for a special radio version from us. That's the first time that's happened and, as you can imagine, that's an incredible compliment. Das Bunker, the club in LA with the grammatically incorrect name and exceptional taste in music, is releasing a tribute to the 80s compilation where a ton of scene artists attempted to re-create, re-interpret, humiliate and pay ironic tribute to classics from the decade of shoulder pads and frosted highlights. Modcom (Ronan's side project) has a cover version on there of the 80s HiNRG classic "Native Love" with Claus Larsen from Leatherstrip supplying the vocals. If you liked Modcom's remix of Chrome, you haven't heard anything yet. A remix of Rotersand's "Merging Oceans" is also in the works for their re-release.
CROSSING THE DIVIDE
A word on the EP. This release date was delayed and then the whole release had to be postponed last year. Even though this frustrated quite a few fans who demanded an explanation, it wasn't really possible to say more than that "there were very valid reasons". A lot of it had to do with personal matters which weren't appropriate for public discussion. The short version is that Ronan had a number of serious eye operations last year. What was supposed to have been a short healing period turned into 6 months of treatment to correct a number of other issues that had been there all along. The whole experience was extremely frustrating and emotionally exhausting for him and, combined with limited computer use, affected any work on tracks or releases. But, that's all out of the way now.
What we've decided to do now is to give the EP away for free. We're working with a company called Pledge, which we'll post more about soon, who will assist us with distributing the tracks and cover art. We feel that this is the best way to make good on a promised release that had to be postponed.
